Hello again! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted pictures. I have a lot of catching up to do! ... Our first activity after school was over in December was a trip on the train to the town of Wenatchee, in Eastern Washington, to visit my cousin Karly and her husband Michael. To get there you have to cross the Cascade Mountains. Wenatchee is situated in a beautiful river canyon, surrounded by hills - here they are in the morning from the train.

Karly and Mike make really good Hasty Pudding, which is sort of like creme brulee but easier and, as the name suggests, quick! Yum yum.

Eastern Washington is a lot colder than Western Washington, and they were having an uncommonly snowy winter there as well. Here we are walking to the bus stop, which felt a little bit like a trek for which we needed snowshoes and earmuffs ...

For New Year's, we cooked a goose. Well, Chance cooked it. I made the side dishes. Lots of people joined us and brought food ... it was a wonderful celebration.

Obviously, we've been staying inside a lot ... because most of the time it's been raining. But the sun comes out every few days and makes beautiful reflections ... here's a puddle on the University of Washington campus. I liked the way my shadow fell across it.

We had a nice Christmas holiday. On Christmas Eve we played Monopoly with Chance's sisters (Elyse, left, and Jeanette) until 2am. Guess who won??? (hint: me.)

Over the winter break, we had lots of fun hanging out with our housemates. Here we are playing pool at the Knarr (a place down the street from our house) with our friend and housemate Chiara.
