Last Thursday night, almost everyone in the house was awakened by loud thunder and lightning. Then in the morning, we awoke to this beautiful snow scene! It didn't last, unfortunately ... but my French class was cancelled because my teacher couldn't get to school. Such is life in Seattle when it snows.

It was beautiful in the morning, with the shadows playing on the snow. It was a bit slippery on the way to school, though ...

This weekend we had ice cream with Chance's mom and his sister Elyse (the one threatening him with her ice cream cone). Here we are at the "Little Coney" on Shilshole Bay, where my dad used to bring me as a kid. :)

Hello, all my German fans ... :) Lately we've been teaming up with a couple of our housemates to cook dinner for each other. Each one of us cooks for everyone once a week - here's Aaron preparing an amazing dish. It works out really well and we all get to try each other's delicious culinary specialties!

This past week we've been experiencing what I call our "February Summer" - a series of gorgeous, blue-skied days, perfect for enjoying Paul's stained glass collection in the living room.

The Seattle skyline is always evolving ... that big glass thing is the brand-new, under-construction Washington Mutual Tower, obscuring the view of the old Washington Mutual Tower. That's Chance on the stairway taking in the view. This was taken on the waterfront - if you could see further right, there would be water.

Our latest "night out" was to Bremerton to see Chance's sister Elyse in her junior high school play. She portrayed the thwarted fiancee of the main character in a play called "Suitable for Hanging" which, ironically, didn't seem to include anything about hanging. She was, of course, brilliant!

I'm photographing neon signs for a research project at the university. I think birds are kind of scary, but they look cool.
