Well, after a 3 week mandatory hiaitus (the Work Study office at UW said I couldn't work for the last part of June), I'm back at work for the children's choir. Part of my (unofficial) job description is being Cat Slave - this is Sprig, my boss' cat, who loves to come get attention while I'm working. I can't resist! He's so cute and furry!

Last night we barbecued over at Chance's grandparents' place in Bremerton. They have the best view - I never get tired of taking pictures of it.

This is Chance's mom's new dog, Sophie. She's still a puppy, and she is SO CUTE! I think we need a pet. (As if that wasn't obvious from the number of puppies and kitties I post on here.)

For July 4th we travelled to Wenatchee in Eastern Washington to visit my cousin Karly (on the left) and her husband Michael. They were lovely hosts and although it was 100 degrees out, their apartment complex had a pool, which we made frequent use of. It was a lovely time!

Having sparklers and ground flowers and snakes reminded us all of happy childhood days when fireworks seemed like the coolest thing in the world and we didn't know that the fumes we were inhaling were toxic.

Proof that July 4th is sort of like being in a war zone, just a really small one.

There was also much frisbee playing, which necessitated getting in the pool again.

We were all tired afterwards and could have used a nap - my niece Sonja took one on the porch.
