curious cats, bacon, and other late night activities

I apologize for the delay in posting, but unfortunately life in Seattle isn't as exciting - or photogenic - as it was in Berlin! We've been doing our usual thing - trudging back and forth to school, studying, procrastinating, and working.

Here are the few activities I've managed to capture on "film" in the past few weeks:

A night out on the town with Jenn and Chris, our favorite drinking partners. We are currently on the prowl for a "local" - a regular hangout where we can meet for a casual evening together on a regular basis. We haven't found it yet, but Chris has developed a kick-ass chart for evaluating, rating and comparing those establishments that we try out. So far, our search has included lots of walking around Belltown in the cold, and a hideous (and hilarious) boob-grabbing sighting. Not cool. Or was it?

We also supported our (now former) roommate Garret by attending his show at the Jewel Box Theater. He's a great musician - you can hear some of his stuff at http://www.myspace.com/superhotjoy. Unfortunately, his visa recently expired and he had to return to South Africa, his homeland. Apparently plans are in the works for his soon return -- we're rooting for it!

There was a very Cute Cat Incident at work ... Sprig (my good buddy - he meets me at the door and "helps" with my office work) is very fascinated by the printer. Usually sleepy (see below), his eyes get very big and wide and he likes to stick his paw into the little hole where the paper comes out. It's just so exciting!

Here he is under his favorite lamp, where it's warm and there are, conveniently, papers that I'm working on for him to lie on.

Our latest fun activity was a long-overdue night out with our fabulous friend Isaac. He took us along to what must be the coolest drag show ever - Bacon Strip! Yes, there were strippers, and yes, there was indeed bacon being handed out by a man in a doctor's coat. It was all very surreal. This performer did a fabulous, complex dance routine with her entourage ... quite Cleopatra-esque!

Oh yeah. Havin' fun.

So fabulous! What more could you ask for? I know, our lives are terribly exciting. Now, back to thesis-writing, studying for geology and work. Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day! (We had pizza at Olympia Pizza House on Capitol Hill with our roommate Kristin - to the musical stylings of "Chris," a rather frizzy-haired man with a violin and a guitar. And a tasty Valentine's it was too.)
