Yesterday my friend Yumi and I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Yumi and I know each other from the MA program at NYU, and she also originally hails from the Northwest, though from the other side of the Canadian border - she is a Vancouver native. It was a lovely warm afternoon ...

The bluebells were out. So pretty! It was as if we weren't in the city.
Afterwards we headed to Habana Outpost, a great place with a patio and awesome, cheese-covered roasted corn. YUM. Twas a fabulous afternoon. Stay tuned for more of such adventures, since two friends are coming to visit next week and we're headed to Seattle the following weekend!
